Greenway Program

In 1994, MRC along with representatives from many organizations and backgrounds established the Indian River Lagoon Greenway Committee.

The Indian River Lagoon Greenway will provide open spaces, recreation opportunities and decrease flooding, while improving water quality and wildlife habitat. Recreational uses include hiking, cycling and bridle paths.

Brevard's Greenway system will ultimately connect to a network being established throughout the entire State of Florida, from the Everglades to the panhandle.
