Filling Wetlands Hoffman Parcel Indian River County

   Dennis Ragsdale from the City of Vero Beach discussed an amendment to the Vero Beach Comprehensive Plan that would allow fill from off site to be used on property which is zoned environmentally significant. This zoning type is limited to very few parcels and the affects of the change would be limited. Michael Cavit from the Vero Beach Zoning Board presented his concerns that off site fill would disrupt the function of the wetlands.
