St. Lucie County Manatee Plan

   The County Manatee Plan makes provisions for a Manatee Protection Advisory Committee, educational programs, habitat protection, better enforcement of speed zones and intergovernmental coordination. The Manatee Protection Advisory Committee will be citizen based and appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to assess the progress of the Manatee Protection Plan by reviewing new manatee and boating data, discussing manatee protection issues and making recommendations to the County for improving manatee protection in local waterways.
