   Loss of habitat and pesticide spraying have contributed to the near extinction of a little silvery-blue butterfly, the Miami Blue. Once thriving across southern Florida and north to Volusia, only 39 have been sited at a Florida Key state park. In efforts to save the Miami Blue the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission declared it endangered, and the North American Butterfly Association is raising money to implement a captive breeding program.
