From Florida Today

The state has eliminated $7 million in funding for the St. Sebastian River and the C1 Diversion Projects. Loss of financing eliminates muck removal of the St. Sebastian River required to improve the river's water quality and the Indian River Lagoon's, which it flows into. The C1 Diversion Project was created to return Turkey Creek to its natural flow to the St. John's River, and reducing fresh water from the lagoon. The St. Lucie River was denied $4 million for cleanup and the same amount was eliminated for lagoon restoration projects in St. Lucie and Martin Counties. The $3 million requested for the Loxahatchee River failed to be funded in the current state budget. Governor Bush signed the state's spending plan that approves a $32.4 million budget cut to lagoon restoration efforts. Although $100 million will be spent on Everglades restoration there is no money for public water quality programs.
